Welcome to the webpage for Bowlesburg School. We will be adding to this site during the year, and I hope that you will find it informative. The staff members at Bowlesburg are strongly committed to providing high quality education to your children. We believe that each child should be given opportunities to achieve his or her potential in a safe and caring environment. Parents, volunteers, and community members are also important components of our success. We are especially proud of our partnership with Western Illinois University and our ongoing work toward becoming a Professional Development School and District. By collaborating with others, we are helping our students grow into readers, writers, creative thinkers, and problem solvers.
The PTA meets monthly to share ideas and plan activities for our students. We appreciate their support for our students and our programs.
Please watch for future postings of Bowlesburg events and news on this web site. We are looking forward to another awesome year at Bowlesburg!
Cathy Baumgartner, Principal
The Bowlesburg School Community will set high academic expectations for all students and will encourage them to become life long learners by providing a warm, caring environment in which each child can strive to meet his/her highest potential.
Bowlesburg is a K-4 building which currently houses 320 students. Our staff of fifteen highly qualified classroom teachers covers three sections of students at each grade level. In addition, there are twelve highly qualified specialists in the areas of: Title I Reading, Kindergarten Literacy, Reading Excellence Partner, Special Education, Bilingual Education, Music, Physical Education, and Library.
Bowlesburg has a full time Counselor, and we share a Certified School Nurse with another elementary school in our district. Our school has consistently made AYP, and we have been honored as a SpotLight School each year since 2005. In 2006, Bowlesburg was also awarded the Academic Improvement Award from the state.
